How do I win a prize?
Knit at least one pattern from the collection and share it in the KAL chat and/or use the #NorthCarolinaKAL hashtag on Instagram. Every post using #NorthCarolinaKAL and/or in the KAL chat counts for prize drawings!

The prize schedule is as follows:

Nov 30, Dec 21, Jan 11, Jan 31: Winner will be drawn from a combination of the chatter thread, FO thread, and Instagram hashtag.

Dec 26, Jan 31: Prize for the knitter with the most finished objects!

January 31st: An additional winner will be drawn exclusively from the FO thread for the Grand Prize.
The more you chat, the more fun you'll have, and the more likely you are to win a prize! Each comment/post = 1 entry for the prize.

Within the FO thread: if you knit your project with yarn from any of the yarn dyers that supported this collection: Hearts on Fiber, Knitty Gritty Fibers, Queen City Yarn, and
Livin Vivid Yarn, or any of the yarn dyers/shops that have donated a prize for the KAL:
The Fibre Studio, Queen's Yarn Boutique, Knitty Gritty Fibers, Knitting Addiction, Yarn and More Inc, Charlotte Yarn, Queen City Yarn, The Tail Spinner, Blue Pelican Gallery Gifts & Yarn, Yummi Yarns, Hand Dyed Diva, and Purl's Yarn Emporium, you will receive one additional entry. You must post twice in the FO thread for your project to receive the additional entry for the yarn -- and please share which yarn it was!

A Small Change finds beautiful vintage fabrics and gives them a new life as a 21st century sustainable product. My hope is to inspire people to rethink how each of us can use less plastic and find the worthiness in the action to reuse when we can.

Queen City Yarn: We are two friends, Janis and Christen, brought together in the Queen City of Charlotte by our love for knitting and yarn.
Our products start with one of eight great yarn bases, each named for a neighborhood in the Queen City that reflects their personality. Seven of these bases are commercially spun superwash yarns.
Our non-superwash base, Berryhill, is Queen City Yarn’s first locally sourced, small-batch, mill-spun yarn. We worked with Echoview Fiber Mill, located just outside Asheville, NC, to create this beautiful fingering-weight merino and alpaca blend yarn.
The colors we apply are inspired by the beautiful things we see around us, breathtaking places we have visited, as well as Christen’s two young children. While each color we produce can stand on its own, one of the guiding principles of color development at Queen City Yarn is designing coordinating colorways as well as colors that beautifully contrast one another. We want to make choosing colors for projects easy, whether it be for a gorgeous fade or perfect color pop."
