Spring Meadows Shawl: Color Inspiration

Updated: Oct 29, 2020

My Spring Meadows Shawl pattern has just released! This is the first time I've had a yarn dyer specifically asking me to design something with a specific yarn and colorway! This shawl was designed as a collaboration with The Fibre Studio at Yarns to Dye For. You can find the shawl pattern for download on Ravelry, PatternVine, and LoveCrafts, and you can read more about the shawl design inspiration here. In this blog post, I'll share some other colors you may wish to use from The Fibre Studio, as well as some more affordable yarn options!

The colorway that I used is their brand new Spring Meadow colorway that they are launching for a North Carolina Fiber Festival.

Really, any of the Fibre Studio Fifty Shades of Gradient colorways would look beautiful with the Spring Meadows Shawl pattern, but here are a few of my personal favorites!

Affordable Yarns List

Can't afford hand-dyed yarn? I completely understand! That is A-OK! Here I've selected a list of more affordable gradient fingering weight yarns that would also work well with the Spring Meadows Shawl! (Note: I am not affiliated with any of the links -- I am just providing this list for your reference. The images are the images from the links provided.) All prices shown are USD and do not account for shipping costs.

88% Acrylic, 7% PBT, and 5% Glitter, this yarn is not boring!

This 100% wool yarn.

92% Cotton, 5% Polyester, 3% Other

To perform your own search for affordable yarns, here are a couple places to start:

Have you made a yarn selection for your Spring Meadows Shawl color(s)? If so, what have you chosen? Debbie and I would love to hear about it in the comments below, on Instagram (be sure to tag @snickerdoodleknits and @fiberstudio), and on Ravelry (share it in my group and/or link your yarn and pattern on your project page)!

The pattern is available for purchase on Ravelry, PatternVine, and LoveCrafts. You can find projects using different color and yarn selections in the Ravelry projects for the pattern!
